History of the S-1 Aira Synth

The Roland S-1 is a modern recreation of the classic Roland SH-101, but with many new features including 4 voices, wave shaping, high quality effects, midi implementation and more.

The Roland SH-01a Boutique shares much of the same sound engine as the S-1, bringing ACB circuitry to the unit for fairly authentic sound and response.

The S-1 came about when Roland saw that many users were wanting a small and inexpensive way to capture classic SH-101 sounds, to take on the bus or to fit in small home studios. As part of the legendary Aira line, expect more synthesizers like this to come from Roland in the near future.
